Kentucky lawmakers return to Frankfort in January for the 2021 legislative session. Join four members of the ACLU of Kentucky team – who all have personal experience with the system – to learn about their work and get involved. This discussion will focus on policies and community engagement to keep people from entering the system in the first place, reduce recidivism, build healthy families, and strengthen communities.

This discussion will be moderated by Brandon Thomas. Brandon is a peer support specialist at Pathways, Inc. He grew up in Eastern KY, is formerly incarcerated, and works with people who have substance use disorder and mental health issues. Brandon's goal is to advocate for voiceless people and people who need hope and love.
