(Bowling Green, KY) Bowling Green remains Kentucky's largest city without an LGBTQ Fairness Ordinance prohibiting discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The first Bowling Green Pride Festival in Circus Square Park will build on the massive local movement that has grown since Commissioner Slim Nash first introduced the Fairness Ordinance in February, when nearly four hundred supporters rallied at city hall. Festivities will begin with live music, drag performances, and vendors in Circus Square Park from Noon-5 p.m. CT. Then, supporters will march to Bowling Green City Hall for a brief rally in support of Fairness. The evening will round out with the second "Love Takes Over" Pride Crawl from 7 p.m. until the closing times of participating venues, which will feature Fairness drink specials, live music, and drag performances throughout the night.
