On
Thursday September 15, 2011, the Indiana University Southeast Civil Liberties
Union will be hosting a colloquium for Constitution Day. The theme of the
colloquium will be First Amendment as it pertains to the Free Exercise clause,
and Establishment clause. The event will be held in the Indiana University
Southeast library, which is on the university’s campus at 4201 Grant Line Road,
New Albany, IN 47150, from 6-7:30PM.
Speakers
will be addressing issues concerning the complex relationship between church and
state. Speakers include Jim Chen, Ed Hensley, Dr. Bryan Hall, and Lee Remington
Williams. There will be time allotted for open discussion and Q & A
sessions following the moderated event.
The
IUSCLU is among the largest, longest running, and most active student chapters
in the state and region. Traditionally, the IUSCLU’s events are well attended
educational events. There will be no cost to attend, and we invite anyone
