Upcoming forums on immigration with national expert Print E-mail

doilookillegal.jpgIn the wake of unprecedented efforts in Kentucky and acrossthe nation to enact unconstitutional, unethical and destructiveanti-immigration policies, the ACLU of Ky will host forums in Louisville onApril 10 and Lexington April 11.

The forums will feature Cecillia Wang, Managing Attorney forthe California office of ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project, as well as localadvocates and educators. Ms. Wang’s practice centers on the intersection ofimmigration and criminal law and the impact of U.S. national security policieson non-citizens. Wang is a graduate of the Yale Law School. She clerked forJudge William Norris of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit andJustice Harry Blackmun of the Supreme Court of the United States.

The discussions will highlight what comes next fromlegislative changes, presidential policies and likely landmark legal judgmentsas well as effective strategies and actions on immigration policies from acrossthe country.
