Eastern Kentucky is hosting an entire week of events celebrating the 1st amendment and among these events is an Oxford style debate on the relationship between church and state.
The Rev. Richard Burden will argue that the U.S government should support and promote Christianity while Dr. Jane Rainey will explain that there should be complete separation between religion and government. The third panelist, Dr. Michael Austin falls in the middle with his conclusion that a government does have some role in any institution that encourages moral values and virtues in its citizens. ACLU members should check this out! Read all of the details here.
