AN ACT relating to public assistance. Create a new section of KRS 194A to require the Cabinet for Health and Family Services to verify that all persons eighteen years of age and older who apply for federal public benefits or state public benefits are United States citizens or have qualified alien status; exempt treatment of an emergency medical condition, emergency disaster relief, immunizations and testing for immunizable diseases, prenatal care, and other services necessary for the protection of life or safety from verification of United States citizenship or qualified alien status; create a new section of KRS Chapter 65 to require a city, county, urban-county government, charter county government, consolidated local government, unified local government, or special district to verify that all persons eighteen years of age and older who apply for local public benefits are United States citizens or have qualified alien status; exempt treatment of an emergency medical condition, emergency disaster relief, immunizations and testing for immunizable diseases, prenatal care, and other services necessary for the protection of life or safety from verification of United States citizenship or qualified alien status.
